Each year 1.5 million Texans battle depression. Suicide is the state’s third leading cause of premature death. These diseases of despair have intensified in the aftermath of COVID-19, exposing inequities across race, ethnicity and income. The good news is we have what it takes to end untreated depression. Accelerated by Lyda Hill Philanthropies®, the Meadows Institute, UT Southwestern Center for Depression Research, and Harvard University’s Global Health Institute are launching the Lone Star Depression Challenge and its straightforward mission to free every Texan from depression.

Attendees will learn about Collaborative Care, Measurement-Based Care, technology-empowered community health workers, philanthropy’s role in spurring innovation and lasting solutions, and how to harness the Lone Star Depression Challenge’s extraordinary potential.
