Amber Newton

Assistant Controller

Amber has more than seven years of experience in the accounting industry. Prior to joining the Institute, she worked as a subcontract auditor within the Defense Industry. She has held positions in public accounting where she gained knowledge in financial statement preparation, state and federal tax filings, as well as assisted with financial compilations. Amber is well rounded in nonprofit accounting where she has worked internally to support financial boards as well as prepare and track annual budgets.

As part of the accounting team, Amber assists Kristina De Lattes, Controller, with managing financial project budgets as well as grants payables and receivables. She also monitors Institute grants compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

Amber is a graduate of the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She resides in Kingston, Oklahoma, with her husband and daughter.
