Clinical Implementation Specialist, Trauma and Grief Center at The Hackett Center for Mental Health

Tamara is a licensed master social worker with experience working in inpatient psychiatric facilities, community integration programs, and clinical outpatient services. As a clinical implementation specialist at the Trauma and Grief Center at The Hackett Center for Mental Health, Tamara provides consultation and training to clinicians implementing evidence-based assessment and treatments to address trauma and loss in youth and families.

Prior to joining the Trauma and Grief Center, Tamara was a social work intern at The Trauma and Grief Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital. Before becoming a social worker, Tamara was an educator for nine years and worked as a classroom teacher, teacher-librarian, and “at-risk” program administrator. She is committed to ensuring equitable, evidence-based, trauma- and-bereavement- informed therapeutic interventions to children and families, especially in underserved communities.

Tamara obtained her bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degree in education from Temple University, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston.
