Rebecca Neusteter, PhD
Rebecca Neusteter currently serves as executive director of the University of Chicago Health Lab where she helps support the Lab’s mission to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequities. She also leads research efforts related to enhancing emergency crisis response. Presently, she serves as an appointed member of PERF’s Research Advisory Board, IACP’s Research Advisory Committee, and CCJ. Rebecca works to implement and evaluate public health and safety programs, focusing on emergency response. Several of her prior positions include Vera’s founding Policing Program Director; NYPD’s Director of Research, Policy, and Planning; and Director of Criminal Justice for the Laura and John Arnold Foundation (now Arnold Ventures). Rebecca is a trustee of the Youth Justice Network; an organization working to break cycles of incarceration and build an equitable justice system for young people. She holds a PhD in Criminal Justice from John Jay College, MS in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from the Milano Graduate School of the New School University, and BA in Sociology from Chapman University.
