The Meadows Institute – Dallas

The Meadows Institute – Dallas leverages the expertise, experience, and support of the Meadows Institute, alongside long-standing institutional partnerships, to focus on the specific needs of Dallas and North Texas. Founded in 2024 with the generous support of the O’Donnell Foundation in the city where the Meadows Institute was born, the Meadows Institute – Dallas strengthens the region’s ability to improve lives through data-driven, best-practice solutions for mental health and emotional well-being to make Dallas the best place to access high-quality mental health care.

The Meadows Institute – Dallas was founded to deepen the Meadows Institute’s long-standing commitment to the city where our work first began. We are proud to partner with Dallas-area leaders and organizations to advance solutions that ensure every resident has access to high-quality, evidence-based mental health care. Our goal is simple: to help Dallas become a national leader in mental health innovation, coordination, and outcomes.”

Our Impact & Partnerships

  • Working in partnership with Housing Forward, the Meadows Institute – Dallas supports efforts to improve health and housing outcomes for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness by expanding access to comprehensive, coordinated care. Through this collaboration, the Meadows Institute provides technical assistance that informs the development and implementation of specialized service models designed to integrate behavioral health and healthcare services at the point of homeless engagement and provide supportive services.
  • The North Texas Handle With Care Network is a five-year Dallas-focused initiative launched with a $6 million grant from the Communities Foundation of Texas through the W.W. Caruth Jr. Fund to reduce the long-term harm children experience after exposure to violence or traumatic events. Grounded in the nationally recognized Handle With Care model, the initiative enables law enforcement to notify schools when a child has been present at a potentially traumatic scene, allowing educators to respond quickly with trauma- and grief-informed support.
  • Building on the Meadows Institute’s role in advancing statewide support for Youth Crisis Outreach Teams (YCOT), the Meadows Institute – Dallas serves as a local connection point to bring that expertise into Dallas to provide support for youth in crisis. The Meadows Institute supports the North Texas Behavioral Health Authority’s efforts to expand YCOT services by providing implementation guidance, facilitating shared learning among community partners, and offering tailored technical assistance.
