Sheryl D. Victorian, PhD
Sheryl Victorian is the Chief of Police for the Waco Police Department and is a nationally respected police executive with over 30 years of experience. Chief Victorian has a pioneering spirit and a deep commitment to ethical, relational policing.
Chief Victorian began her career with the Houston Police Department, where she rose through the ranks to Assistant Chief before being appointed as the Police Chief for the City of Waco in 2021. A champion for officer wellness, transparency, and community trust, she leads with intentionality – prioritizing behavioral health, innovative crime reduction strategies, and equitable policing practices.
Chief Victorian holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Administration of Justice, and is a graduate of several notable leadership programs, including the FBI National Academy (FBINA), and the Police Executive Research Forum’s (PERF) Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP). She is the 2nd Vice President for the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives (NAWLEE), and the chair of the Texas Police Chiefs Association’s (TPCA) Women’s Executive Leadership Committee (WELC).
