Texas Senate Select Committee on Veteran Affairs – Sean Hanna

SUMMARY — On August 26, 2026, the Meadows Institute’s Vice President for Veterans and Public Safety, Sean Hanna, provided invited testimony before the Texas Senate Select Committee on Veteran Affairs. He provided testimony twice; once to discuss strategies to strengthen the military-to-civilian transition, and later in the day to address the transition of certain programs to the Texas Veterans Commission.

On August 26, 2026, the Meadows Institute’s Vice President for Veterans and Public Safety, Sean Hanna, provided invited testimony today on two separate charges before the Texas Senate Select Committee on Veteran Affairs.

He first discussed strategies to strengthen the military-to-civilian transition.

Later, Sean provided testimony on the transition of certain programs to the Texas Veterans Commission, including the Texas Veterans + Family Alliance grant program, which the Meadows Institute designed and administered from 2016-2018. In his testimony, he outlined recommendations related to House Bill 114 and Senate Bill 1814, both of which went into effect on September 1, 2025.
