Alessandra Pequeno

Grants and Contracts Associate

Alessandra comes to the Meadows Institute with over four years of experience in public health, grants, and contract management. Prior to joining the Institute, Alessandra completed a fellowship at the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), working under the Office of Compliance and Accountability. During her fellowship, she provided technical assistance for grant and contract administration, developed operational policies, and conducted research to inform strategic decisions. Alessandra also worked closely with grant stakeholders and gained experience in ensuring compliance. Before her time at Texas DSHS, Alessandra interned at the Laredo Public Health Department, focusing on data analysis, policy development, and program evaluation.

At the Meadows Institute, Alessandra supports the Vice President of Operations in overseeing and monitoring Institute grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines, and contributing to the preparation and submission of high-quality grant and contract applications. She assists the Vice President of Accounting and Controller in the preparation and organization of documentation for federal audits, supports the development and implementation of internal controls, and monitors federal grant expenditures for proper allocation of funds.

Alessandra has a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Texas A&M International University and a certification in Data Analytics and Literacy. She is passionate about the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute’s mission to provide effective, efficient mental health care to all Texans and is eager to contribute to the mission. Alessandra currently resides in Laredo, Texas, with her cat.
