Arely Leal

Arely serves as an Project Implementation Specialist within the Trauma and Grief Center at The Hackett Center for Mental Health, based in Houston. She works under Julie Kaplow, Executive Director, The Trauma and Grief Center at The Hackett Center.

Prior to joining the Institute, Arely worked at the Trauma and Grief Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital as a Business Operations Coordinator providing administrative support for the entire team. Before that, Arely worked as the Secretary for the Psychology Clinic supporting the Training Directors managing their daily agendas, meetings, and undertaking any other duties assigned.

Arely also worked at The Methodist Hospital for five years as the Clinical Assistant for liver and kidney transplant patients. Her primary focus was to provide post-operative care for her patients, including vital signs and complications such as infection or organ rejection, the ordering of medications, and delivery of excellent patient care.

Arely is bilingual and is continuing her education at Houston Community College with a focus on Business Administration in Management. Her goal is to obtain a master’s degree in Business Management.
