Brian Manley

Brian Manley served in the Austin Police Department (APD) for 30 years, with his last four years as the Chief of Police. In his 30 years with the APD, Chief Manley served in and led across several department areas, including Patrol, Narcotics, Child Abuse, Homicide, Highway Enforcement, Internal Affairs, Special Operations & Homeland Security, and Recruiting & Training. In 2019, Chief Manley was recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the 50 “World’s Greatest Leaders”.

After retiring from APD, Chief Manley became President of Off Duty Management, a company founded by a former law enforcement officer and staffed by several retired/former officers.

Chief Manley received his BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and his MS in Organizational Leadership and Ethics from St. Edward’s University. He is also a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police and the Major Cities Chiefs Association Police Executive Leadership Institute and taught as an adjunct professor in the St. Edward’s University Criminal Justice program.
