Casey Stranahan Murphy
Casey brings a robust professional background in philanthropy, communications, and project management to the Meadows Institute, with a proven record of leading high-value, high-visibility initiatives across all three sectors. Prior to joining the Meadows Institute, she served as a communications project manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where she managed projects across three working teams and acted as the primary communications account manager for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office. Casey’s background in philanthropy includes roles at The University of Texas at Austin, where she served as a communications coordinator for the launch of the What Starts Here campaign, and at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she worked as both a creative services project manager and major gifts assistant.
At the Meadows Institute, Casey supports the chief impact officer and the Philanthropy Team in delivering an engaging and consistent donor experience through strategic communications, programming, and operational support. She manages the Meadows Institute’s Texas State of Mind Society, overseeing the group’s events, newsletters, and membership program.
Casey holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from Tulane University and a master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh. She began her career working in art galleries before transitioning into philanthropy and project management. She lives in the Austin area with her husband and two sons.
