Don Titcombe

Vice President of Strategy, The Hackett Center

Don joined the Meadows Institute with 18 years of leadership in social impact, specializing in health, housing, education, and early childhood development. Most recently, as Associate Director of Early Childhood Initiatives in Harris County, Don led a historic $150 million investment in early childhood, positively impacting over 35,000 children, with a notable emphasis on mental health services for children and caregivers. With eight years of experience in philanthropy, Don served as Senior Program Officer at Rockwell Fund, where he pioneered new investments addressing severe mental illness, adult and adolescent behavioral health, and the mental wellbeing of girls and young women. He also played key leadership roles in local initiatives, including chairing the Local Adolescence Recovery Oriented System of Care and representing local funders on the Way Home Steering Committee, a key player in Houston’s nationally recognized homelessness response.

In his role, Don is responsible for assisting in establishing and implementing The Hackett Center’s strategic priorities. In partnering with leadership, Don deepens The Hackett Center’s existing work by fostering strategic partnerships with funders, health systems, educational institutions, and community organizations. Don leads projects and helps ensure initiatives align with Meadows Institute’s broader strategic priorities. Don holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
