Hannah Stewart
Hannah joined the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute with six years of experience in public health research. She received her Master of Public Health in Global Health Leadership from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. After completing her masters, she returned to Texas to begin her PhD at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health where she developed extensive expertise in qualitative and mixed-methods research and program evaluation, eventually leading to consulting contracts with universities and governmental agencies interested in collecting and analyzing qualitative data. Additionally, Hannah was tasked with tracking substance and mental health policy for faculty at UTHealth Houston. In this role, Hannah provided policy analyses and updates to the institution’s community partners. After falling in love with policy, Hannah pursued an additional graduate certificate in public health law research from UTHealth, which she completed in 2025. Hannah is currently pursuing her PhD.
In her Meadows Institute role, Hannah assumes expanded responsibilities related to federal policy research, including monitoring federal legislation, regulations, and grant opportunities that impact the Meadows Institute’s initiatives. She is responsible for drafting policy-oriented materials, collaborating with teams across the Meadows Institute to ensure alignment with national policy priorities, and will continue overseeing internal and external weekly national policy updates.
