Isra Merchant
Isra Merchant, LMSW, recently graduated from Columbia University and is now full time. She joined the Institute in 2019 and worked on the Operations team as an Executive Assistant before shifting to a part-time Research Assistant role and going back to graduate school to get her master’s degree. During her time in graduate school, Isra also worked with the Cohen Military Family Clinic as a Case Management Intern. At the clinic, Isra engaged in client-focused work, conducting mental health assessments for veteran clients and their families, and built partnerships with community stakeholders to provide quality services for clients. She also served as a Health Strategy Specialist Intern at UNICEF, conducting data analysis to assess project progress, creating visualizations for stakeholder engagement, and drafting donor reports and presentations.
In her role at the Meadows Institute, Isra serves as a Senior Project Manager for the Center for Health System Transformation, primarily working with Darilynn Cardona-Beiler, MSSA, LCSW, Senior Vice President for Specialty Care. She works on various aspects of project cycles in coordination with team members by tracking deliverables, coordinating and facilitating meetings, conducting research, drafting reports, and building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
Isra has a Master’s of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and lives in Lewisville, Texas with her family and her three cats.
