Jenny Costilow
Jenny comes to the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute with over 25 years of experience in public policy and programs in the State of Texas, working in Medicaid policy and program management, managed care, intellectual and developmental disability services, and home- and community- based services. Prior to joining the Meadows Institute, Jenny was an Associate Director for National Consulting with Sellers Dorsey, a national healthcare impact firm, where she worked with a range of clients, including Medicaid providers, managed care entities, state and county governments, and solution vendors. Before joining Sellers Dorsey, she directed the Program Policy team for Medicaid and CHIP Services at Texas Health and Human Services Commission. She also has experience with the legacy Department of Aging and Disability Services as Aging and Disability Resource Center Manager and Government Relations Specialist, and served as a Committee Director, Bill Analyst, and Researcher in the Texas Senate.
In her Meadows Institute role, Jenny organizes and aligns strategic priorities for the Children, Youth and Families team and support projects and team members.
Jenny has a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Women’s Studies from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and a Master’s degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. She also holds a certificate in Disability Leadership from the Arc of Texas. Jenny lives in East Austin with a husband and two teenagers (one of whom will soon move away to college) and has three dogs and a cat. One of her primary hobbies is tending to a small pond in her front yard with many plants and fish, and she is also an avid reader.
