Jessica Leech

Chief of Staff for the Chief Impact Officer

Jessica’s most recent role was at The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), where she served as the Program Coordinator for a grant-funded social policy education program within the School of Social Work. In this role, she managed the planning and coordination of the program’s activities, supervised student research assistants, and supported the program’s overall growth and development. Jessica was hired by the UTA School of Social Work after earning her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in community and administrative practice. She focused her studies in the program on macro-level areas of social work, including public policy, grant writing, and philanthropy. Prior to pursuing her social work degree, Jessica worked for 15 years in the hospitality industry with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

Jessica has had an interest in mental health since she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The University of Florida, studying emotional development in preschool aged children. She also has an interest in maternal stress and its impact on childhood outcomes.

In her role at the Institute, Jessica coordinates efforts to advance philanthropic support. This includes assisting the Vice President of Philanthropy, Vice President of Philanthropic Partnerships and members of the Executive Leadership Team in all fundraising activities, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors. She helps prepare and submit high-quality proposals and reports, particularly those involving general operating support. Jessica also helps to develop and streamline philanthropic processes to increase institute-wide efficiency and efficacy. Finally, Jessica supports the Texas State of Mind Society as it continues to grow and potentially expand to other regions.

Jessica moved from Canada to Florida as a teen and currently lives outside of Dallas with her husband and their two daughters.
