Kaila Williams

Texas Continuum of Care Project Director

Kaila Williams, BSW, brings over 10 years of experience in program management and more than 13 years in trauma-informed case management, coupled with a lifetime of lived experience that enriches her professional perspective. Prior to joining the Institute, Kaila began her career as a social worker, providing valuable services to non-profits and enhancing their programs. She continued her dedication to service through AmeriCorps VISTA, where she supported underprivileged youth. Kaila then advanced to the role of Director of Youth and Family Services for the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office, followed by a position as a Child Abuse Investigator with her relocation to Texas. Most recently, she served as the Senior Program Manager for one of the largest recovery community organizations in Texas, offering support to individuals dealing with substance use and mental health challenges.

In her role at the Meadows Institute, Kaila serves as the Texas Continuum of Care Project Director and will lead the coordination and implementation of a statewide initiative aimed at developing a robust continuum of care model to reduce youth incarceration rates in Texas.

Kaila holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Alabama and is a certified Mental Health Peer Specialist and certified Peer Specialist Supervisor. Outside of her professional life, Kaila enjoys spending time with her energetic 4-year-old, exploring her passion for pumping iron and dance cardio.
