Karl Santos

Project Coordinator for Policy Implementation

Karl Santos received his BA and MS in criminology from the School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas. During his undergraduate time, he worked as a research assistant for UT Dallas’ Personality and Interpersonal Relationships Lab. While in graduate school, he dedicated a year of service to AmeriCorps, a national service program addressing community needs in education, the environment, and public health.

Prior to joining the Meadows Institute, Karl worked as a social science research analyst at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the Office of Inspector General. There he worked on several policy review and research projects meant to reduce fraud, waste, and abuse in federal programs. These studies focused on government oversight of nursing homes and the healthcare systems’ experiences during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
