Kim Schugars
Kim joined the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute with over 15 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial operations, and brings a strong background in managing full-cycle accounting processes across multiple industries. Prior to joining the Meadows Institute, Kim served as a bookkeeper for The Naked Market, where she managed accounts payable and receivable, inventory, invoicing, and financial reporting using systems such as NetSuite, Xero, and Bill.com. Concurrently, she has worked as a part-time full cycle bookkeeper for a nonprofit organization, overseeing financial operations in QuickBooks Online. Earlier in her career, Kim spent over a decade with Graphics House Companies, supporting multi-entity accounting, payroll, and human resources functions across diverse business lines.
In her Meadows Institute role, Kim supports accounts payable operations, including entering and coding vendor invoices, reviewing employee expense reimbursements and credit card transactions, monitoring approval workflows, and initiating payments. She assists with vendor setup and compliance, including W-9 collection and 1099 preparation, responds to vendor and employee inquiries, supports system administration, and contributes to month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Kim recently relocated from West Michigan to Raleigh, North Carolina to be closer to her daughter who lives in Durham, and enjoys escaping the Michigan winters.
