Lisa Kurtz

Assistant Director of Integrated Public Safety Policy

Lisa joins the Meadows Institute with 15 years of experience in project and program management, specializing in initiatives that promote individual and organizational well-being. Lisa started her career in alternative K-12 education in New York City and New Orleans. For the past nine years, she has worked with law enforcement agencies to create stronger and more robust organizational cultures and to ensure officers have access to comprehensive mental health care. Lisa was the founding director of Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement (ABLE), which grew out of her work with the New Orleans Police Department. ABLE is the first nationwide law enforcement initiative focused on equipping officers with the skills and tools they need to intervene with each other to prevent harm to officers and to the communities they serve.

In her Institute role, Lisa continues her work with ABLE, overseeing statewide program implementation, training and professional development, data coordination, evaluation, and contribute to the overall Health and Public Safety portfolio as well as collaborates across teams at the Institute.
