Sandra Jamet

Vice President of Major Gifts and Special Initiatives

Sandra joined the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute with 20 years of experience in fundraising, leadership, and nonprofit management. She most recently served as the Director of Development and Grants Administration at the Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center, where she built the development team from the ground up, bringing structure and new processes for funder reporting, prospect research, proposal development, and tracking results, nearly doubling the organization’s awards over five years. Prior to this, Sandra served as the Director of Operations for the CSG Justice Center’s behavioral health division, where she oversaw fundraising, finance, employee relations, and developing resources for the field. Her past experience also includes serving as the Associate Vice President for Foundation Giving at the United Way of New York City and leading fundraising for the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH), a national nonprofit that advances supportive housing for people experiencing mental illness and homelessness.

In her role at the Meadows Institute, Sandra leads fundraising efforts for the Behavioral Health Emergency Response initiative (BHERi), leveraging her significant expertise at the intersection of crisis response, behavioral health, and criminal justice. She is responsible for building and executing the major gifts strategy for BHERi, working closely with program, policy, data and evaluation teams to secure, track, and report on the philanthropic funding that will enable scaling and sustaining best-practice 911 reforms across Texas.

Sandra received her Master of Public Affairs from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University. She resides in Garden City, New York with her husband and two children.
