Sydney supports all aspects of the Meadows Institute’s Data Team’s work, with a particular focus on data quality assurance, analytic workflows, and reporting and visualization. She also engages with internal and external partners to assess and implement methods and analyses that inform projects across the Institute’s portfolio.
Sydney comes from the Lab Surveillance Team at the Kentucky Department for Public Health where she worked as a COVID-19 Data Specialist for two years. Before that, she spent time developing, implementing, and analyzing a social determinants of health project at a community health center to determine why patients are non-compliant with their health regimes. Her research interests include social and behavioral determinants of health, substance use disorders, and emergency preparedness.
Sydney earned her master’s degree in Biostatistics at the University of Louisville and her bachelor’s degree in Public Health at Kent State University.
