A new initiative will expand access to grief and trauma care in Tarrant County

August 19, 2026 – The Meadows Institute was featured in a story by NBC 5 DFW highlighting our partnership with Soar, a social impact capital project, to launch the Tarrant County Trauma and Grief Collaborative.

The story emphasizes the critical regional need: while more than 58,000 local youth are exposed to multiple traumatic events, few school- and community-based treatment settings equipped to deliver specialized trauma and grief care.

Through annual learning collaboratives, our Trauma and Grief (TAG) Center will train school and community-based clinicians across Tarrant County. As clinicians deliver care, standardized outcome data will flow back to the TAG Center, allowing our researchers to evaluate what is working, refine interventions, and strengthen the model over time.
