Denton to contribute $10K toward countywide mental health and jail diversion center plan

August 7, 2026 – The Meadows Institute was mentioned in a story by the Denton Record-Chronicle about the Denton City Council’s vote to support the development of a pilot mental health and jail diversion center.

The Meadows Institute helped develop the strategic plan for the center, which will serve as an alternative to incarceration for low-level and nonviolent offenses with a focus on mental health services.
