Governor Abbott Appoints Mata To Texas Commission On Fire Protection

August 11, 2026 – The Meadows Institute is featured in a press release from Governor Greg Abbott announcing Enrique Mata’s appointment to the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.

Enrique, the executive director of the Meadows Institute’s Paso del Norte Center, was highlighted for his 25 years of experience in health philanthropy. He will serve on the Commission, which is responsible for developing and enforcing statewide fire service standards and providing education and assistance to the fire service industry.
