Research reveals flood survivors in Texas Hill Country face lasting mental health challenges

January 30, 2026 – The Meadows Institute was featured in news coverage as we supported the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill County’s announcement of its roadmap for mental health recovery following the devastating July 4 floods. As part of our partnership, the Meadows Institute produced a Rapid Mental Health Needs Assessment that helped inform the recovery plan and recommended investments that would help existing local resources have the biggest impact.

Meadows Institute President and CEO Andy Keller spoke at the event, saying, “We will not just meet the needs identified in this report – needs that many of you here today live every day – but we will build systems that make us better prepared to live out our lives together and thrive together.”
