State lawmakers, Austin leaders discuss homelessness, mental health and foster care

June 25, 2026 – The Meadows Institute’s health and public safety work was featured in a story by KVUE about yesterday’s meeting of the House Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs.

Executive Vice President of Health and Public Safety, B.J. Wagner, spoke about the high costs of unmet mental health needs for communities and programs that can not only save money but provide a more effective response to behavioral health emergencies.
