After the Floods: Supporting the Mental Health of Families
The devastating flooding in Central Texas has had a lasting impact on families and the St. Michael’s community. As recovery continued after this tragic event, the mental health needs of those affected, whether directly or indirectly, became increasingly important — especially children experiencing trauma and grief.
To help support those needs, Dr. Julie Kaplow, Executive Director of the Trauma and Grief Center at The Hackett Center for Mental Health, provided expertise on this topic. This webinar offers important information about how trauma and grief manifest in children after a natural disaster, how adults can best support them whether at home or in the classroom, and how to know when therapy may be needed.
We are grateful to Maureen and Jim Hackett for underwriting this special presentation.
