Improving Outcomes Through Measurement-Informed Care
Measurement-informed care (MIC), also known as measurement-based care, involves regularly and systematically using patient data to inform clinical decisions and improve quality of care. In partnership with West Health, the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute published a brief and hosted a companion webinar to expand understanding of MIC and how it can make behavioral health care more consistent, accountable and effective.
Dallas County Smart Justice
SUMMARY – The primary goal of this project—made possible by the Caruth Smart Justice Planning Grant—is to improve overall public safety by reducing the number of people with mental illness receiving treatment through involvement with law enforcement and the jail. The project is also expected to lead to improved health outcomes for individuals, better alignment of treatment needs with existing and future system capabilities, and decreased pressure on area emergency rooms.
Harris County Children, Youth, and Families Systems Assessment
SUMMARY – In 2016, Houston Endowment partnered with the Meadows Institute to conduct a thorough assessment of Harris County’s available mental health resources for children and youth, identifying gaps in the system and offering strategic recommendations and opportunities for growth.
